Perl Harbor Part 1

This is one of the milestones of the trip. We both are qiut intrested in history and this is one of them. This is the site where the second War became the second World War. The attack by the Japanese on the morning of 7 December 1941 (Hawai’ian time) at Ford Island brings the Americans into the war and ultimately that tipped the balance in the alliances favor.

You know the history, right? If not, it is a lot of it on the web.

The Perl historic site is situated on two different sites. The Arezona Memorial is free of charge, but you need to board a ferry to get there. This site takes only 10 minutes + the ferry. The Submarine USS Bowfine is close to the ferry.

The rest of the sites are inside an active navel base. To get there you board a free shuttle bus that takes you out there. Bring some sort of ID (don’t need passport) just in case.

This is the sites for the Ford Island airbase and The USS Missouri. On the air base you will encounter planes, attack plan and a lot of pictures. They also have later planes like F 4 to F 18 and different helicopters.
